Anna Gunn Movies And TV Roles: Where You Know The Breaking Bad Star

Anna Gunn is best known for her role as Skyler White in AMC's Breaking Bad but here's where else you may have seen the actress.

Here’s a breakdown of Breaking Bad star Anna Gunn’s career thus far. Anna Gunn started her career in the early 1990s, with her first screen credit being an episode of cult sci-fi series Quantum Leap. Throughout the rest of the decade, much of her work was on television, including short-lived sitcom Down The Shore, an episode of Seinfeld and TV movie Moment of Truth: Caught In The Crossfire with Dennis Franz;  she later went on to appear with Franz in episodes of NYPD Blue.

Inbetween regular TV roles, Anna Gunn first voiced the character of Ariel in 1996 video game Blood Omen: Legacy Of Kain, the first entry in the cult horror series. She reprised the character for various sequels, including Legacy Of Kain: Soul Reaver and Soul Reaver 2. She also played a supporting role in 1998 Will Smith thriller Enemy Of The State and landed a recurring role on the legal drama The Practice with Dylan McDermott.

The early 2000s was another grab bag of movies and TV roles for Anna Gunn, including the poorly-received Winona Ryder horror Lost Souls, an episode of Six Feet Under and a failed 2003 pilot based upon L.A. Confidential that starred Kiefer Sutherland. The second half of the decade saw a big uptick in the quality of the material she was being offered, such as playing Martha Bullock in HBO’s acclaimed western Deadwood. In 2008 she landed a defining role with Breaking Bad, where she played Skyler White, the wife of Bryan Cranston’s teacher turned drug kingpin.

Gracepoint American TV Show

Breaking Bad is one of the most acclaimed TV dramas of the modern era, thanks to stellar writing, acting and direction, and it later spawned a spinoff with Better Call Saul. Gunn was also great as the conflicted Skyler, though unfortunately, the character suffered a backlash for being the series’ moral compass. During Gunn’s time on the hit series she turned up in projects like Kevin Smith’s indie thriller Red State in 2011 and an episode of Law & Order.

Breaking Bad came to an end in 2013 and Anna Gunn has working consistently in the years since. She had a lead role in miniseries Gracepoint, which was a remake of British drama Broadchurch. She appeared in the Clint Eastwood directed biopic Sully in 2016 and had a recurring part in corrupt cop drama Shades Of Blue alongside Jennifer Lopez. Her most recent projects include 2018 comedy Being Frank and she recently reprised her part as Martha Bullock for Netflix’s Deadwood: The Movie.
