Billie Eilish joins ℕ𝕚𝕘𝕙𝕥𝕞𝕒𝕣𝕖 Before Christmas ‘live-to-film’ concert cast with Danny Elfman

What’s this? What’s this? It’s Billie Eilish in ℕ𝕚𝕘𝕙𝕥𝕞𝕒𝕣𝕖 (Before Christmas)!

The No Time To Die songstress, who met royalty at the film’s world premiere earlier this week, is joining the live cast to sing in sync with two special shows of Tim Burton’s ℕ𝕚𝕘𝕙𝕥𝕞𝕒𝕣𝕖 Before Christmas at the Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles.

As ‘a live-to-film concert experience’, the 1993 Disney animation will be played onscreen, accompanied by a live orchestra and also singers for the musical’s numbers.

Billie will be taking on Sally’s Song, originally performed by Catherine O’Hara, who has recently found a whole new legion of fans as the OTT Moira on Schitt’s Creek.

The Hallowe’en events, which take place on October 29 and 31, see her join the film’s composer and songwriter Danny Elfman as he reprises his voice part as Jack Skellington.

Original cast member Ken Page will also be returning to his role of the iconic and slightly terrifying Oogie Boogie, while ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic will perform as Lock, a character originally voiced by Paul Reubens, better known as Pee-wee Herman.

Frequent Tim Burton collaborator Danny shared the news on Twitter on Friday, which Billie retweeted, writing: ‘It’s my pleasure to announce that special guest star @billieeilish will be joining the ℕ𝕚𝕘𝕙𝕥𝕞𝕒𝕣𝕖 gang to sing Sally for our upcoming “ℕ𝕚𝕘𝕙𝕥𝕞𝕒𝕣𝕖 Before Christmas” shows at the Banc of California Stadium.’

In an accompanying statement, the Hollywood composer and Oingo Boingo member described himself as ‘thrilled’ with Billie’s involvement, saying: ‘This will be a real treat (not a trick).’

The production has gone ahead in previous years at the Hollywood Bowl, along with other live-to-film concerts like 2019’s The Little Mermaid with Lea Michele as Ariel and Harvey Fierstein as Ursula, which first debuted there in 2016 with Sara Bareilles and Lea’s Glee co-star Darren Criss.
