Book of Boba Fett Gets Disintegrated in Brutal Star Wars Honest Trailer

Following the ending of The Book of Boba Fett this past February, Screen Junkies releases an Honest Trailer for the Disney+ series.

The Book of Boba Fett gets the Honest Trailer treatment in brutal fashion.

Screen Junkies’ latest video on YouTube pokes fun at the Star Wars series, which concluded after its finale released February 9 on Disney+. No trilogy is spared from the onslaught of jokes, which reference the original films, prequels and sequels. Boba Fett himself is a main target of the video’s many shots, ranging from the character’s constant need for a bacta tank and being a crime lord who is against crime.

The Book of Boba Fett picks up after the events of The Mandalorian Season 2, though there are a number of time jumps throughout the seven-episode series. As the Honest Trailer points out, the first four episodes flash back to the events that take place between Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi and The Mandalorian, while the rest of the series focuses on Fett’s time as the new daimyo on Tatooine. The video also identifies how the series shifts into a pseudo third season for The Mandalorian.

For fans of The Mandalorian, skipping The Book of Boba Fett may lead to some confusion when starting Season 3, once it eventually releases. After Mandalorian Din Djarin parted ways with Grogu at the end of Season 2 so he could train with Jedi Master Luke Skywalker, The Book of Boba Fett sees Grogu ditch Skywalker’s Jedi school and reunite with Djarin. For this reason, Screen Junkies identifies Grogu as “The Dropout” in the Honest Trailer’s credit sequence.

The next Star Wars series set to release will be Obi-Wan Kenobi, returning actor Ewan McGregor to the role of the titular Jedi. The same day that The Book of Boba Fett released its finale episode, the announcement came that Obi-Wan Kenobi would premiere on Disney+ on May 25, the 45th anniversary of Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope. McGregor is not the only one picking up the lightsaber again, being that Anakin Skywalker actor Hayden Christensen will return in the series as Darth Vader.

While The Book of Boba Fett bridged a gap between Return of the Jedi and The Mandalorian, Obi-Wan Kenobi will take place between Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. To fans’ knowledge, Kenobi spent this time watching over Luke Skywalker on Tatooine, the planet that Honest Trailers quips is a lot less boring than the heroic protagonist made it out to be.
