Far Cry 6 Breaking Bad Bundle Lets Dani Become Walter White

In a thrilling crossover with Breaking Bad, two new Far Cry 6 cosmetic bundles let players become Walter White or a Los Pollos Hermanos worker.

A crossover between Far Cry 6 and Breaking Bad lets players dress up as Walter White or a Los Pollos Hermanos employee. Ubisoft’s open-world shooter casts players as a revolutionary in the fictional island of Yara, which is ruled by ruthless dictator Anton Castillo. Renowned Breaking Bad star Giancarlo Esposito plays Anton Castillo through a motion-captured performance, translating the actor’s intensity and gravitas as drug lord Gus Fring into the action shooter.

In a recent interview with Screen RantFar Cry 6 narrative director and lead writer Navid Khavari explained how Giancarlo Esposito was cast as Anton Castillo. The Far Cry series has become well-known for its fascinating villains, and Khavari reveals that the sixth installment’s central antagonist took many different forms during development. However, as Anton Castillo began to fully materialize, it became apparent that Giancarlo Esposito was the perfect choice to portray the frightening figure. Esposito is joined by fellow Breaking Bad alumnus in the title as well, with Danny Trejo joining Far Cry 6 in a mission set to officially release in December. The action star had a small role on the hit show as DEA informant Tortuga.

To push the game’s connection to Breaking Bad even further, Far Cry 6 has just added two cosmetic bundles inspired by the crime thriller series. While no official confirmation has been released by Ubisoft, Reddit user Leading-Noise7314 and Kinda Funny CEO Greg Miller have both posted the bundles on social media. The first set is the Los Pollos Hermanos Bundle, which pays tribute to the chicken restaurant operated by Giancarlo Esposito’s character Gus Fring. The uniform comes complete with an apron, hat, watch, and a Los Pollos Hermanos delivery truck vehicle. Meanwhile, the Heisenberg Bundle lets players don the attire of Bryan Cranston’s iconic chemist Walter White. The set transforms protagonist Dani into The Danger with the character’s signature hat, jacket and glasses, along with an assortment of weapons.

To go along with Giancarlo Esposito, Danny Trejo and the Breaking Bad cosmetic bundles, Far Cry 6 will soon receive yet another connection to the crime franchise. 2012’s Far Cry 3 featured an antagonist named Vaas Montenegro, who was played by the talented Michael Mando. Mando would later go on to feature as Nacho Varga on Better Call Saul, a Breaking Bad prequel series which focuses on the eccentric criminal lawyer Saul Goodman. Starting November 16, a Far Cry 6 DLC featuring Vaas will allow gamers to play as the bloodthirsty criminal as they travel deep into his twisted psyche.

With a number of references and common performers, Far Cry 6 may be as close as fans will get to a Breaking Bad video game adaptation. With Giancarlo Esposito as a commanding villain and Michael Mando as an upcoming playable character, fans of the series will see plenty of familiar faces in Ubisoft’s open-world shooter. By donning a Los Pollos Hermanos uniform players will be able to serve up chicken and violence in equal measure. Meanwhile, the Heisenberg Bundle will let players turn Dani into the infamous One Who Knocks.

Far Cry 6 is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC and Google Stadia.
