Downton Abbey 2 Poster Combines Upstairs & Downstairs Cast

A new poster for Downton Abbey: A New Era combines characters from both the servants' quarters and luxurious elite residences of the Downton estate.

A new poster for this spring’s Downton Abbey: A New Era brings together the staff and the elite residents of the titular estate. Based on the wildly successful British drama series that follows both the upstairs and downstairs inhabitants of the stately Yorkshire home, Downton Abbey 2 is written by Julian Fellowes, who also created and wrote the original series. A New Era is a sequel to the 2019 film titled Downton Abbey, which Fellowes also wrote.

This week, Downton Abbey: A New Era released a promotional poster for the highly-anticipated film. The poster features the graceful, statuesque presence of a number of beloved characters. These characters are both the lower-class members of the servants’ quarters who reside “downstairs” and the elite “upstairs” residents of Downton, the Crawley family.

Tickets for Downton Abbey: A New Era are now on sale in both the US and the UK. Director Simon Curtis replaced the previous filmmaker, Michael Engler, for A New Era. The sequel’s story will find the Dowager Countess (Maggie Smith) mysteriously acquiring a villa in France while a movie set comes to Downton, and the new poster highlights these dual storylines by splitting the expansive cast. It looks like there will be plenty of adventure for everyone involved.

Downton Abbey: A New Era stars Hugh Bonneville, Elizabeth McGovern, Michelle Dockery, and Laura Carmichael, among many others. New cast members include Hugh Dancy, Laura Haddock, and Dominic West. Downton Abbey: A New Era will be released in the UK on April 29, 2022, and in the United States and Canada on May 20, 2022
