Elden Ring: Ofnir The All-Knowing Mimics The Mandalorian’s Armorer

Ofnir the All-Knowing, an Elden Ring boss encounter, looks surprisingly similar to the Armorer, a character from the Disney+ series The Mandalorian.

Ofnir the All-Knowing, a powerful sorcerer in FromSoftware’s hit action role-playing game Elden Ring, shares a distinctive look with a character from the Disney+ series The Mandalorian. Both Elden Ring and The Mandalorian have received widespread acclaim, and share a deep, knowing respect for long-standing mythologies and deep lore. Though the two stories exist in very different worlds, one astute observer noticed a surprising similarity in two unique character designs.

The Mandalorian was a roaring success for Disney+, and its fresh approach to the Star Wars mythos has changed the long-standing legacy of Boba Fett. In the series, Mandalorians are known for their distinctive Beskar armor, crafted from a rare metal that is strong enough to redirect blaster fire and block powerful lightsaber strikes. Their unique helmets, inspired by ancient Nordic warriors, struck fear in the hearts of their bounties, and the Mandalorian’s Armorer touts a helmet that appears to be very similar to that of Ofnir the All-Knowing in Elden Ring.

Elden Ring takes place in a mythical land known as The Lands Between, a new setting created by FromSoftware’s Hidetaka Miyazaki and Game of Thrones author George R. R. Martin. The game features many unique characters that draw from different periods of history, from medieval knights to samurai warriors, and a wide variety of different armor sets for player customization. Ofnir the All-Knowing is one of those characters, a challenging warrior with a haunting appearance and powerful spell attacks, and one that looks just like The Mandalorian’s Armorer.

Ofnir The All-Knowing’s Armor Looks Just Like The Mandalorian Armorer’s

One intrepid Elden Ring player, @DarkSoul_1337, pointed out the similarity between The Mandalorian‘s Armorer and Elden Ring‘s Ofnir the All-Knowing in a post on Twitter. Side by side, the similarity between the two sets of armor is striking, from the specific shape of the eyes and nose guard to the horn-like points on the skull. In the image, both characters are also wielding hammer-like weapons and sporting tufts of fur on their shoulders. Ofnir the All-Knowing wields a staff in his boss encounter, but players can earn pieces of Ofnir’s armor by defeating him in combat, making the in-game Mandalorian Armorer build possible.

Good armor sets that also look cool are hard to find, a terrible RPG trope Elden Ring perpetuates that should probably be retired. Players looking for a very specific Mandalorian-style armor set can seek out Ofnir the All-Knowing in Leyndell, Capital of Ash, and wreak havoc on the Lands Between. Elden Ring is a massive open-world, with more mysteries, weapons, and armor being revealed as players explore, grind, and loot. As the saying goes, this is the way.
