Hawaii Five-0 Series Finale First Look Reveals Chuck Norris Cameo

Hawaii Five-0 revealed a Chuck Norris cameo in the CBS show's two-hour series finale, which also guest stars James Marsters and William Sadler.

Chuck Norris guest stars on the series finale of Hawaii Five-0 when the CBS series ends with a two-hour episode. A reboot of the 1968 CBS series of the same name, Hawaii Five-0, follows a police task force on the titular island, led by Steve McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin) and Danny Williams (Scott Caan). Lost veteran Daniel Dae Kim and Battlestar Galactica star Grace Park were series regulars for the first seven seasons but left the show after the network refused to pay them salaries equal to O’Loughlin and Caan.

Norris is best known as the title role in Walker, Texas Ranger (currently being rebooted by The CW to star Supernatural’s Jared Padalecki in Norris’ old role), but has also appeared in major film franchises like The ExpendablesMissing in Action and Delta Force. Norris got his Hollywood start as Bruce Lee’s enemy in Way of the Dragon, and by 1985 he was a full-fledged celebrity. His career in films slowed down in the 90s when Norris hopped to television in Walker, Texas Ranger. That series lasted eight seasons and received a short-lived spin-off called Sons of Thunder.

TVLine reports Norris will guest-star on the Hawaii Five-0 series finale as Lee Phillips, “a retired sergeant major who is helping his mentee, Lincoln Cole (Lance Gross), hide from authorities to protect his anonymity.” O’Loughlin, Caan, and the rest of the Five-0 are called in to protect Cole, inevitably pitting them against Norris (even if only briefly).

Norris is the last in a long list of guest stars to appear on Hawaii Five-0. The first seven seasons saw a host of Lost alumni join Dae Kim, including Terry O’Quinn, Cynthia Watros, Jeff Fahey, Patrick Fischler, Henry Ian Cusick, and Jorge Garcia – who started as a recurring character and is now a series regular. The series finale will be episode 240, just 39 less than the original series aired. Rumors suggested that O’Loughlin was looking to leave the series, and CBS canceled the show rather than find a new partner for Caan’s character.

Adding Norris to the last episode makes it feel like an even bigger event. While he’s certainly not as young as he once was, Chuck Norris still represents a particular era of 80’s action movie stars. Hopefully, the finale capitalizes on Norris’s action-hero status and makes this an explosive two-hour sendoff for the successful series. CBS hasn’t indicated it’s considering a spin-off, but maybe a decade from now it’ll be time for another Hawaii Five-0 reboot.
