It’s Real, and It’s Spectacular: The ‘Seinfeld Experience’ Pop-Up Museum Is Coming to New York

This year, we celebrate the anniversaries of many earth-shattering events. Five hundred years since Leonardo da Vinci’s death. Fifty years since the moon landing. And most importantly, the 30th anniversary of Seinfeld’s television debut.

Can you believe it’s been three decades since we first met Jerry, Elaine, George, and Kramer? Can you believe you’ve been carrying around Newman and David Puddy in your heart all these years?

To celebrate this momentous occasion, the production company Superfly (which is behind the Bonnaroo and Outside Lands music festivals and the comedy festival Clusterfest) is bringing a “fully immersive behind-the-scenes look at the legendary TV show” to New York City. Call it a Festivus for the rest of us.

This isn’t the first time fans will get to relive their favorite moments from the iconic series. In 2015, a five-day pop-up show in New York allowed visitors to recreate the sensual photo shoot of George’s beautiful hands, tour a recreation of Jerry’s perfect bachelor pad, and pore over the props that we all know and love (Bachman pretzels or Junior Mints, anyone?).

For now, details are still under wraps, but the website for the Seinfeld Experience says it will be open seven days a week, with tickets going on sale this fall through February 2020.

So what does the show’s star think about this upcoming boondoggle?

“Because I am Seinfeld, for a long time I was the only person to actually have the Seinfeld experience,” Jerry said in a press statement. “Now, these crazy Superfly people are going to make it so lots of people can interact with our silly 90’s TV show, all I can say is, in the general context of the world we live in, this now seems completely normal.”
