Jonah Hill Jokes About Imaginary Feud With The Mandalorian’s Baby Yoda

Jonah Hill pokes fun at the new conversation surrounding his recent comments about The Mandalorian, which seems to suggest he hates Baby Yoda.

Jonah Hill has a hilarious response to the internet’s reaction behind his opinion of The Mandalorian and its beloved character Baby Yoda. Disney+ is now the home of a few different Star Wars shows, but The Mandalorian undoubtedly remains its most popular. The story of lone bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and Baby Yoda/Grogu, the powerful child he’s taken under his wing, has enchanted viewers from all sides of the Star Wars fan base. So far, The Mandalorian has churned out two seasons, and a third is on the way, though it isn’t yet clear when it will premiere.

The Mandalorian has a good number of fans, but the Oscar-nominated Hill is not one of them. Hill made headlines recently when he revealed that, during production on Don’t Look Up, his co-star Leonardo DiCaprio got him to watch The Mandalorian. Already not much of a fan of sci-fi, Hill admitted he “didn’t give a fuck because I didn’t know anything that it was about.” However, he did say he found Baby Yoda to be very cute, like the rest of the internet.

Still, if one based their impression on Hill’s comments solely on the headlines written about them, they might think the actor dislikes the long-eared tyke. Someone even joked online that one headline made it sound like Hill is specifically feuding with Baby Yoda. He reacted to this on social media with a perfect response: “Baby Yoda and I are dear friends and text at least once a week.” He further laid out how he and Baby Yoda may not text every day and the pandemic put a strain on things, but they are “all good.” You can see his full, hilarious post down below.

Hill has had experience with misleading, out of proportion headlines, and it’s nice to see he knows how to approach them in a humorous way. Few can actually accuse Hill of having a true issue with Baby Yoda, though many might find the idea of him not liking The Mandalorian absurd. At the end of the day, though, Hill’s lack of enthusiasm over the show has nothing to do with its quality; he just isn’t a big sci-fi guy. And besides, he and Baby Yoda are obviously great buddies.

Hill might not be eagerly looking forward to The Mandalorian’s return, but many fans are. Where things last left off, Baby Yoda left Din behind to be trained by Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) in the ways of the Force. Now the question is whether he will return. Lucasfilm has been very quiet on whether fans should expect to see him once more, and it seems likely that question will remain unanswered for a while longer. In the meantime, fans can rewatch The Mandalorian’s first two seasons to get their Baby Yoda fix. Hill likely won’t join them.
