Kenobi, Mandalorian & Andor Panels Confirmed For Star Wars Celebration

Star Wars Celebration will officially include panels for Obi-Wan Kenobi, The Mandalorian, and Andor, which hints at new content getting revealed.

Panels for the live-action series Obi-Wan Kenobi, The Mandalorian, and Andor have been confirmed for Star Wars Celebration 2022. The event, which will be happening for the first time since 2019, will take place in Anaheim, CA, from May 26-29. Star Wars Celebration is known for revealing many surprises about upcoming projects, such as when Disney released the first teaser for 2019’s Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker and the first look at The Mandalorian season 1. This has caused many of the details surrounding the event to stay under wraps.

With many new live-action shows soon to come from Star Wars, viewers have been anticipating first looks, teasers, and news on the upcoming series. The first 2 episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi will premiere on the same Friday that the event will be taking place, which would give the cast and crew an opportunity to discuss some of the behind-the-scenes stories as well as brief details about the first third of the series. Andor is expected to make its debut in the later part of the summer, and with no teasers or trailers out just yet, the audience is ready to take their first look at the upcoming spy-thriller. The Mandalorian season 3 is also on the horizon after an almost 1.5-year wait, which has made viewers eager for updates regarding the beloved show that’s taken the world by storm.

Now, Star Wars has confirmed that Obi-Wan KenobiThe Mandalorian, and Andor will all have their own panels at Celebration, in addition to other “live-action filmmakers” and “special guests.” Some guests from these series have already been announced, such as Giancarlo Esposito (Moff Gideon) and Omid Abtahi (Doctor Pershing). Adria Arjona, who’s part of the Andor cast, also told Screen Rant in an interview for Morbius that she’s going to attend the event, though her presence hasn’t yet been confirmed by Star Wars Celebration organizers. With just under two months to go until the event, more details are still likely to come forth, though the news of these panels alone is a huge win for Star Wars viewers.

While these 3 series were specifically mentioned by Star Wars, their broader use of the “live-action” term seems to hint at other projects also getting their time to shine. This could include the upcoming Ahsoka series, which is said to start filming later this year, as well as the High Republic era series that begins filming around the same time. What viewers haven’t yet heard about is The Bad Batch season 2, though it could be mentioned later in an animation-specific announcement for the event. There’s still a lot of time to go until the event begins, after all.

As for the three Disney+ live-action series already mentioned, there will likely be much to come for excited viewers and Star Wars Celebration attendees. With an Obi-Wan Kenobi panel, the audience may even get to see stars Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen attend the event together for the first time since their prequel Star Wars trilogy wrapped up. The Andor panel could allow viewers to see even more of the cast for the upcoming series, while The Mandalorian panel will allow the cast and crew the first opportunity to discuss details about the series ever since its 2019 debut. There will be lots for Star Wars fans to celebrate at this year’s event, and with these 3 series confirmed to have panels, it will likely become a weekend to remember.
