LEGO Star Wars: Skywalker Saga’s New Mandalorian & Bad Batch DLC Out Now

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga gets new DLC based on The Bad Batch and The Mandalorian Season 2 in honor of today's May the Fourth celebrations.

In honor of today’s May the Fourth celebrations, WB Games is releasing new LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga DLC based on The Mandalorian season two and The Bad Batch. With roughly 300 playable characters at launch, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga already boasts a massive roster of heroes and villains from across the nine mainline Star Wars movies, and even more have been added in the form of DLC packs. Day One saw the release of LEGO Star Wars: Skywalker Saga’s Trooper Pack as a pre-order bonus, and later expansions added the casts from Solo: A Star Wars Story, the first season of The Mandalorian, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and even a few classic LEGO Star Wars minifigures rendered in the style of the old 90s LEGO sets.

This wave of new LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga DLC isn’t stopping anytime soon, though it will remain limited to characters despite some fans hoping for new levels based on their favorite Star Wars films and shows. A recent leak revealed the character icons for the upcoming LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Mandalorian Season 2 DLC Pack, which includes fan-favorite characters like Ahsoka Tano and Bo-Katan Kryse. Another LEGO Star Wars: Skywalker Saga DLC pack is based on the Disney Plus animated spin-off The Bad Batch, but fans of that show might be disappointed to hear that the young clone Omega won’t be included despite her importance to the show’s plot.

Fans won’t have to wait much longer to play as popular characters from The Mandalorian Season 2 and The Bad Batch, as Warner Bros Games has announced that the LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga DLC packs for both will be released today, May 4, in honor of Star Wars Day. As mentioned before, The Mandalorian Season 2 Character Pack will include minifigure versions of Ahsoka Tano, Boba Fett, Bo Katan, Fennec Shand, and Moff Gideon, while the “Star Wars: The Bad Batch” Character Pack will let fans play as the elite clone trooper squadron of Hunter, Wrecker, Tech, Crosshair, and Echo. A trailer for these two new LEGO Star Wars character DLC packs was also released on the official WB Games YouTube channel, showcasing the new characters alongside previous additions from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and The Mandalorian Season 1.

Star Wars Day, or “May the Fourth” as it is also called, is held every year in honor of the massively successful Star Wars franchise, with fans all over the world gathering to celebrate the series and Lucasfilm often making surprising announcements about future Star Wars media – video games included. This year’s Star Wars Day festivities are already in full swing, with Fortnite re-releasing a wide range of Star Wars-themed skins, items, and Quests from past Seasons. It’s anyone’s guess what Lucasfilm could announce today, but some Star Wars gaming fans have speculated that the company may shed some light on the previously-announced Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order sequel, while other upcoming titles like Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic Remake and Star Wars Eclipse could make an appearance.

In the meantime, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has been hailed as one of the most ambitious LEGO games of all time, and its roster of playable characters is growing once again thanks to today’s The Mandalorian Season 2 and The Bad Batch DLC packs. These characters are now available to purchase as either standalone character packs or as part of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga’s Character Collection pack.
