Peacemaker Fan Shows Off Epic Mandalorian & Vigilante Crossover Cosplay

Two incredibly popular masked outlaws collide in a fun cosplay by _bdazzler_, who gives Peacemaker's Vigilante a Mandalorian helmet and blasters.

Through the magic of cosplay, Peacemaker’s Vigilante crosses over into the Star Wars universe and becomes a Mandalorian soldier in one fan’s stunning creation. While The Mandalorian has become a pop culture phenomenon since first airing in 2019, Peacemaker overcame a hesitant DC fanbase to become a success practically overnight. Standout characters like Vigilante, excellent humor, and an R-rated alien invasion storyline gave exposure to an overlooked character made outstanding by John Cena. Although they are different shows, Peacemaker’s trajectory seems familiar in comparison.

With Peacemaker season 2 on the way, fans will have to see if the show continues making inroads as an unconventional superhero series and whether it can reach the popularity of something like Star Wars. The Mandalorian, in particular, is one of Disney’s best investments in the franchise to date, thanks to Din Djarin’s (Pedro Pascal) characterization and the alternative storytelling that focuses on a bounty hunter succumbing to the goodness within himself. The series had a massive presence at Star Wars Celebration 2022, with season 3 officially announced.

This year’s Star Wars Celebration didn’t just feature important news about various franchise properties but invited scores of cosplayers to the Anaheim Convention Center. Brooke, better known as bdazzler, was one such cosplayer who arrived at the expo one day as a mashup of Peacemaker’s Vigilante and a Mandalorian. Wearing Vigilante’s suit below the neck, she dons a Mandalorian helmet and wields two Star Wars-inspired blasters. Check out the costume images below:

It is unclear why the content creator decided to blend these two particular characters, but the outcome is unexpectedly seamless. bdazzler has cosplayed Vigilante’s civilian alter ego, Adrian Chase, in his Fennel Fields employee outfit before developing the armored mashup, so it is clear that she likes the character. The outfit’s helmet and WESTAR-35 blaster pistols, on the other hand, are reminiscent of the scorned Bo-Katan Kryze, who is returning for The Mandalorian season 3. The nine-week crafting process appears to have been worth the effort, wowing fans at the Star Wars Celebration and earning a retweet from Peacemaker showrunner James Gunn.

As two of the entertainment world’s largest franchises, Star Wars and DC character mashups are not few and far between, but rarely do they make this much sense. While Vigilante and Bo-Katan are two completely different people, driven by opposite motivations, their gear meshes together oddly well. Even at the Star Wars Celebration, bdazzler manages to represent a jubilant murderer while looking like a warrior straight from Mandalore, and that is what cosplay is all about. Since most of her creations are Star Wars-related, including an unmasked Boba Fett cosplay, it will be fascinating to see what crossover bdazzler thinks up next.
