After a surprise cameo in The Mandalorian’s second season and almost an entire episode centered around him in The Book of Boba Fett, Luke Skywalker has emerged as a front runner for his own stand-alone series. With Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ahsoka, and Andor all featuring the exploits of specific characters coming to Disney+, it only seems natural that a Luke Skywalker series would be imminent.

Star Wars fans have taken to Reddit to voice exactly what they want to see from the continuing adventures of Luke Skywalker, especially if they take place directly after the events of Return of the Jedi. From searching the galaxy for students to rebuild the Jedi Order to seeing Sebastian Stan step into the iconic role and perhaps even an animated iteration, Redditors have many strong opinions about what a Luke Skywalker series should look like.

The Search For Force-Sensitive Beings In The Galaxy

One of the biggest concerns for fans is what shape a Luke Skywalker series would take. Would it be episodic like The Mandalorian or more serialized like The Book of Boba Fett? When it comes to a series centered on Luke Skywalker building up a Jedi Academy, the answer seems simple.

National_Egg_9044 wants, “a series where every episode is Luke flying around investigating reports of Jedi or force-sensitive beings.” Considering that Grogu ended up declining to be Luke’s first student, it only makes sense to create a Luke Skywalker series focused on his search for other potentials, with new species and new planets contributing to the world-building of the franchise.

Sebastian Stan As Luke Skywalker

For the last several years, there’s been one actor’s name on the lips of fans hoping to see a Luke Skywalker series come to fruition; Sebastian Stan. Most often associated with playing Bucky Barnes aka The Winter Soldier in the MCU, Stan has been at the top of fan-casting lists for his remarkable resemblance to the original Luke Skywalker, Mark Hamill.

P4rc0pr3s1s is “absolutely convinced we need a Luke Skywalker series featuring Sebastian Stan as a dark, brooding Luke after the Jedi Academy falls.” Given the more cynical Luke Skywalker presented in the Sequel Trilogy, showing how Luke grappled with the dark side present in Ben Solo (and perhaps even himself) would provide better context for his self-imposed isolation on Ahch-To and generate more appreciation for his Sequel Trilogy depiction.

Seeing Luke Become The Most Powerful Jedi In History

Most fans have felt, for some time, that one of the most egregious things about the Original Trilogy coming to an end was not getting to see Luke Skywalker’s true potential as one of the greatest Jedi in the galaxy. Though he suffered from a lack of formal training, his resourcefulness and raw talent coupled with his incredible lineage nevertheless made him a truly formidable Jedi Master by the time the Empire fell.

Fans have been clamoring to see Mara Jade cast in a live-action series for some time.

Fans don’t want a Luke Skywalker series comprised of a body double, deep fake technology, and an AI voice program that approximates Mark Hamill’s voice at 25 years old.

Some fans think the technology is available to effectively make a Luke Skywalker series possible with de-aged original actor Mark Hamill. They believe that deep fake technology and CGI are getting so good that it will be able to accurately show Luke in his prime with Mark being involved.
