‘The Chi’ Season 4 will leave doors open
Fans can count on the show to wrap up several important storylines, including Emmett and Tiff’s marital conflict and the outcome of Nina’s affair. But with just one episode left in season 4, there are some things that will seemingly need more time to explore.
This includes the aftermath of Douda’s attack on Marcus, which has left him fighting for his life. A witness to it, Jake decided not to tell Jemma (at least for now) to protect him, his brother, and their relationship. But he could only hide the truth for so long. When Jemma finds out, she promises to “find out who did this.”
Asked for details about the season 4 finale of The Chi, Rolando Boyce (Darnell) would only tell Celebrity Myxer that it’s “incredible.” He’s also anticipating another season to see how everything unfolds in the end.
“You know it’s funny because you can think of so many different ways it could be going, but Lena and her team always surprise me,” he said. “… I don’t know where it’s gonna go, but hopefully we get another season, and we all continue to grow.”
But Showtime has yet to reveal if it will renew ‘The Chi’
When it comes to whether The Chi will get renewed, the decision usually boils down to the ratings. As TV Series Finale notes, the fourth season of The Chi has a 0.07 rating among adults 18-49 and an average of three million viewers. Though it is a drop in comparison to the third season, the numbers aren’t horrible. Ultimately, it’s up to Showtime to make the call.
Judging from the timing of the last renewal announcement, the network could announce a decision after the season finale. If it does choose to bring back the show, The Chi could return in 2022. But then again, the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is still in effect, so fans should brace themselves for a longer wait.
