Cheech and Chong bringing ‘O Cannabis’ tour to Penticton’s events centre

PENTICTON – The world’s most famous stoners are making an appearance at Penticton’s South Okanagan Events Centre.

The iconic comedy duo of Cheech and Chong are making a stop in Penticton part of their “O Cannabis Tour” on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2019.

Tickets go on sale Friday, April 26 at 10 a.m.

Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong are taking their 40 years of comedic talents to the road this year as they celebrate Canada’s new cannabis laws in the “O Cannabis” tour which will make 14 stops in Canada this fall.

Cheech and Chong released nine albums from 1972 through 1985. They were nominated for four Grammy Awards and won a Grammy for Best Comedy Album “Los Cochinos” in 1973. Their second album, “Big Bambu,” was the best selling comedy record of all time.

Cheech and Chong’s 1978 movie “Up in Smoke” topped $100 million at the box office, and the duo eventually starred in eight feature films, all directed by Tommy Chong.

Cheech Marin is a multi-generational star, and well known for not only his comedic talents but also as an actor, director, writer and musician.

Tommy Chong began his career in a rhythm and blues band, and later became an actor, starring on “That 70s Show,” “Dharma & Greg,” and “The George Lopez Show.”
